Thru Hole Floats

A wide range of BUNA N rubber and thermoplastic magnetic thru-hole floats suitable for many applications, offering a low cost, low Specific Gravity alternative to stainless steel floats. Depending on quantity required custom sizes are available. They are lighter than metallic floats, will not corrode, are unaffected by salt and are more buoyant.

STAINLESS STEEL TUBED-THROUGH MAGNETIC FLOATS:

These floats are tubed magnetic floats, used for reed switch activation; they have a hollow tubed connection running through them. These magnetic floats have become standard equipment where strength, corrosion resistance and buoyancy are necessary. They are manufactured by welding two drawn half shells together. The welding process is critical for the strength and durability of the float. The weld is a full penetration weld providing a smoothly finished seam, hardly distinguishable from the rest of the float surface.

STAINLESS STEEL MECHANICAL FLOATS:

Available in a wide variety of standard and custom materials, thicknesses, sizes and shapes with or without connector these stainless steel floats are intended for mechanically operated switches or valves. Spherical floats are particularly economical with a high collapse pressure relative to weight.

COPPER FLOATS:

Deeter - Copper Floats

Copper floats are typically used in open tank applications, in a variety of sizes, shapes and styles including spherical, oblong and canister. The copper floats are manufactured from two separate shells. These base shells are pressed from sheet copper into true spherical or cylindrical forms with uniform curvature and wall thickness. To join the two shells without annealing the copper, an overlapping soldered joint is employed. This is made extra wide for ample strength and overlapped internally to preserve the true spherical shape of the copper float. The recess formed in the upper shell is held to close tolerance, then flooded with a special high temperature, non-toxic solder. In the completed joint, the end of one shell rests tightly against the metal offset at the base of the recess to eliminate any stress on the solder joint of the copper float.
