The Deeter Wireless Sensor System interfaces with any 4-20mA sensor to enable reliable wireless communication with the sensor. It is suitable for installation in environments where it would be difficult or impractical to run cables. It can also be used as a backup to an existing wired system to ensure continued transmission of sensor data in the event of cable failure. The system communicates using the IEEE 802.15.4 wireless network protocol, in the internationally approved, license-free, 2.4GHz ISM frequency band. Wireless range can be up to 1km, subject to environmental conditions, antenna location and interference from other radio equipment.

In its simplest form, the Deeter Wireless Sensor System consists of a Base Station and a sensor node in a point-to-point system. There are currently two types of sensor node: a Wireless continuous vertical level sensor (LVCS-RF), manufactured by Deeter, or our own general purpose Wireless Sender. The Sender enables remote sensing of up to four switch inputs and any analog 4-20mA Sensor or analog resistive input.
The Base Station has four open-collector transistor outputs and a 4-20mA current-loop driver output, corresponding to the inputs on the sensor node. The transistor outputs can either reflect the state of the switch inputs or they can be configured to turn on and off at analog input set points.
For greater range or where the link quality is not sufficient, up to four Deeter Wireless Routers can be added to the system.
The Deeter Wireless Sensor System is an ANY Sensor System, making it suitable for use with the following types of sensor:
